Donald Lee Propst Sr. Obituary, ALLEGANY COUNTY, Md. — Donald Lee Propst Sr., 80, has died from injuries sustained in a serious two-vehicle crash on Ellerslie Road in Allegany County, according to the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:29 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026, near 13511 Ellerslie Road. Propst was driving a Chevrolet pickup truck when it was involved in a collision with a Subaru.
Propst suffered serious injuries in the crash and was transported by Maryland State Police Aviation Command, Trooper 5, to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Subaru was operated by a juvenile who sustained minor injuries in the collision. The juvenile was transported to UPMC Western Maryland for medical treatment. Authorities have not released the juvenile’s identity because of their age.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. Cpl. J. Martel of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is leading the investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that contributed to the collision.
