Stacey Renee Shay Obituary, MEADVILLE, Pa. — Stacey Renee Shay, 42, of Meadville, Pennsylvania, died peacefully at Marquette Hospice House on August 9, 2026, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Her passing has left family, friends, and members of the Meadville community mourning the loss of a woman remembered for her strength, compassion, humor, and caring nature.
Born on October 27, 1983, in Meadville, Stacey was the daughter of Robert J. Shay Jr. and the late Darla (Gamble) Shay. She attended Meadville High School before continuing her education at Edinboro University.
Stacey dedicated her professional life to caring for others through her work in in-home healthcare with Sunny Days. Her commitment to helping people reflected the compassion and willingness to support others that those who knew her came to appreciate throughout her life.
During her high school years, Stacey was also recognized for her athletic ability and passion for sports. She participated in basketball, softball, wrestling, and soccer, demonstrating determination, teamwork, and a strong competitive spirit.
Outside of her professional and athletic pursuits, Stacey enjoyed spending time outdoors and making memories with family and friends. She was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan and took particular pleasure in celebrating Halloween and Christmas. Shopping and other simple experiences also brought her happiness.
Those who knew Stacey are remembering her for her strength, humor, caring heart, and the meaningful connections she formed throughout her life. The memories she created with family and friends will remain an important part of the legacy she leaves behind.
