Joshua Moore Obituary, ROANOKE, Va. — Joshua Moore, 24, has died after a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle in Roanoke, Virginia, on Friday night. The fatal collision was confirmed by the Roanoke Police Department.
The crash was reported at approximately 8:50 p.m. at the intersection of 11th Street NE and eastbound Orange Avenue. According to police, Moore was riding a motorcycle when it collided with an SUV.
Officers and emergency crews responding to the scene found Moore injured after he was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision. Roanoke Fire-EMS personnel provided medical treatment at the scene as emergency responders worked to assist him.
Moore was subsequently transported to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for further medical care. Despite treatment, he later died from injuries sustained in the crash.
Police said the driver of the SUV remained at the scene following the collision and cooperated with investigators. Authorities have not released additional information about the driver or indicated whether any contributing factors have been identified.
Members of the Roanoke Police Department’s Crash Scene Investigation team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision. Police have not announced a confirmed cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing.
