Ja’Nyah Everett Obituary: Bulloch County, Georgia – Statesboro Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

Ja’Nyah Everett Obituary, BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. — Ja’Nyah Everett, 23, of Statesboro, Georgia, was killed Sunday evening, Aug. 9, after a single-vehicle crash in Bulloch County that also left two juvenile children injured, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

The crash occurred at approximately 7:12 p.m. near the intersection of Old River Road South and Old Flat Ford Road. Bulloch County 911 dispatched emergency personnel to the scene, including Bulloch County EMS, Bulloch County Fire, the Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol.

According to preliminary information from Georgia State Patrol Post 45, Everett was driving a Honda Accord northbound on Old River Road South near Fonnie Knight Road when she entered a curve at a speed that was too fast for the roadway and vehicle conditions. The vehicle subsequently left the roadway, slid and overturned.

Authorities said two juvenile passengers were ejected from the vehicle during the rollover crash. Both children, identified as Everett’s children, were transported by Bulloch County EMS to Memorial Medical Center in Savannah for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Preliminary investigators reported that Everett was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Authorities also determined that the children were not properly restrained in approved child safety seats. Everett suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Her next of kin was notified Sunday night.

Old River Road South was temporarily closed as Georgia State Patrol troopers investigated the crash, documented the scene and gathered evidence. The roadway was reopened at approximately 9 p.m. Sunday.

The investigation is being handled by TFC Daniel Gay of Georgia State Patrol Post 45. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, including the vehicle’s speed and the factors that caused it to leave the roadway. Additional information may be released as the investigation progresses.

Ja’Nyah Everett’s death leaves behind a grieving family following the sudden crash, while her two children continue to receive medical care for their injuries. Her memory is honored with respect as authorities work to establish the full circumstances of the tragedy, and condolences are extended to those affected by her passing.
