ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. — Daniel Dmitry Krauze, 22, of Anderson, South Carolina, was killed Saturday night after an Audi left the roadway, traveled through a residential yard and crashed into a nearby home, according to the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
Anderson County 911 received a report of the crash shortly after 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Sugar Creek Lane. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene, where they found multiple people injured following the collision.
Krauze was identified as the person who died in the crash. According to Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore, preliminary information indicates that Krauze was riding as an unrestrained passenger in the Audi when the vehicle left the roadway.
The vehicle traveled through a residential yard before striking a nearby house. Krauze suffered multiple traumatic injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding authorities.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office has ruled Krauze’s death accidental. Two other people involved in the crash were transported to Prisma Health Trauma Center in Greenville for treatment. Their conditions and the extent of their injuries were not immediately available.
The circumstances that caused the Audi to leave the roadway remain under investigation. Authorities have not released additional information about the vehicle’s speed or whether impairment was involved.
The Anderson County Office of the Coroner and the South Carolina Highway Patrol are continuing to investigate the fatal crash. The identities of the other people involved have not been released, and further details are expected as investigators work to determine what led to the vehicle leaving the roadway.
