Brittany Briana Ramon Obituary, KINNEY COUNTY, Texas — Brittany Briana Ramon, 25, of Uvalde, Texas, died Saturday morning after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 90 in Kinney County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The fatal crash occurred at approximately 5:02 a.m. on U.S. 90, about 16 miles west of Brackettville. Preliminary information from the Texas Department of Public Safety indicates that the crash involved a gray Dodge pickup truck towing a helicopter and a blue Chevrolet Equinox.

According to authorities, the Dodge pickup was traveling westbound on U.S. 90 when its driver encountered the Chevrolet Equinox traveling in the wrong direction along the westbound shoulder. The Dodge driver attempted to avoid a head-on collision by swerving.

The Chevrolet Equinox nevertheless struck the front-right quarter panel of the Dodge pickup. The impact resulted in a collision involving the pickup truck, the helicopter it was towing and the Chevrolet Equinox.

Ramon, who was driving the Chevrolet Equinox, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death has left those who knew her mourning the loss of a 25-year-old Uvalde resident.

The driver of the Dodge pickup truck sustained minor injuries in the collision. Authorities did not immediately release additional information about the driver’s condition.

The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Officials have not released further details explaining why the Chevrolet Equinox was traveling in the wrong direction on the highway.

As the investigation continues, additional information may be released by authorities. Brittany Briana Ramon’s death marks a tragic loss for the Uvalde community, and condolences are extended to those affected by her passing.
