Shawn Meader Obituary, FREEDOM, N.H. — Shawn Meader, 45, of Waterville, Maine, has died following an apparent drowning at Ossipee Lake in Freedom, New Hampshire, early Saturday morning, according to authorities.
New Hampshire State Police said troopers responded to Ossipee Lake shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report that a swimmer had gone missing in the water. Authorities immediately began a search operation to locate the missing man.
The Center Ossipee Dive Rescue Team assisted law enforcement during the search for Meader. Rescue divers eventually located him in the water and brought him to emergency personnel.
Lifesaving efforts were immediately performed at the scene in an attempt to revive Meader. Despite those efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified the deceased man as Shawn Meader, 45, of Waterville, Maine. His death followed what officials described as an apparent drowning at the New Hampshire lake.
