Dr. Cyril Nathaniel Obituary, CONEMAUGH — Dr. Cyril Nathaniel, a longtime cardiologist, medical educator, and valued member of the community, died on the morning of Wednesday, August 5, 2026, after a long struggle with cancer. He was 66.
Nathaniel was remembered by colleagues and friends as a dedicated physician whose medical career was defined by his commitment to caring for patients and serving the community. For decades, he worked as a cardiologist, earning the respect of patients and generations of medical residents who benefited from his knowledge and guidance.
Throughout his career, Nathaniel was known for his genuine concern for those under his care, as well as his expertise in cardiology. Nathaniel received his education in Chandigarh, India, and at Punjabi University Patiala in India. He later completed his internal medicine residency at Englewood Hospital in Englewood, New Jersey.
He continued his medical training through a cardiology fellowship at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and UConn Health, the University of Connecticut Health Center, in Farmington, Connecticut. His extensive medical education helped shape a career devoted to both patient care and medical teaching.
Nathaniel also served as past Medical Staff President at Conemaugh Hospital, reflecting his leadership and longstanding involvement within the medical community. His colleagues remembered him not only for his professional expertise but also for the care and dedication he brought to his work.
