Jamie Lou McClelland Obituary, TRIMBLE — Jamie Lou McClelland, 79, of Trimble, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was remembered for her tenacity for life, willingness to work hard and play hard, and the encouragement she offered to those around her.
McClelland built an adventurous career that culminated in her retirement from Sedgwick Claims Management Services. Throughout her life, she embraced opportunities to stay active and pursue the interests she enjoyed. She was an avid softball player and motorcycle enthusiast and had an appreciation for movies and music of all genres.
Travel and adventure were also an important part of McClelland’s life. She was always ready for a road trip, reflecting the enthusiasm and willingness to embrace new experiences that those who knew her remembered. Her approach to life also extended to the people around her, as she encouraged others to believe they were capable of achieving more than they had imagined.
McClelland is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Richard); son, Steven; Goddaughter, Shona; grandsons, Dillon and Elijah; sister, Molly (Larry); and brothers, Thomas (Lyn) and Michael. She is also survived by many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews.
Her family expressed appreciation for the extended family and caregivers who supported McClelland, including Brenda (Jack) and Melissa (Eric). They also shared thanks for her friends Cathy, CJ, Kim and Lori, describing their friendship and support as deeply meaningful.
The family also expressed gratitude to Ohio Health Hospice for helping provide dignity and care during the final months of McClelland’s life. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Thelma Fleming, and her sister, Susan (Roger).
A celebration of life for McClelland will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Morrison Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Athens, OH, Grandma’s Gang. Messages of comfort may also be shared through Morrison Funeral Chapel.
Jamie Lou McClelland leaves behind family, friends and loved ones who will remember her adventurous spirit, determination, encouragement and the meaningful connections she formed throughout her life. Her memory will continue through those she inspired and the many experiences shared with her. The thoughts and condolences of the community are with her family and loved ones during this time of remembrance.
